OTCO’s Response to COVID-19
March 13, 2020 

Governor Mike DeWine’s updates on Coronavirus (COVID-19) directly impacts many of you in the water & wastewater profession. Some facilities where classes are being held are restricting the entrance of non-essential personnel on the premises.
Effective ‪Monday, March 16, 2020, OTCO classroom courses, workshops, and backflow trainings have been suspended ‪until Monday, April 6, 2020.  
Trainings that were scheduled between March 16th thru April 6th will be rescheduled or alternative on-line training will be offered.
At this time, the April 14-15, 2020 Wastewater Workshop in Columbus will still be offered.
We will provide updates and information on the OTCO website ‪starting Monday, March 16, 2020, as decisions and announcements are made.

UPDATE AS OF 3/23/2020

OTCO's distance learning courses for contact hours will be

available on-line on March 31, 2020.

OAC 3745-8-15

(E) Contact hour course approval.
(a) Web-based course, which shall be interactive and not static or pre-recorded:
  (i) Results of an interactive test given during the course for comprehension.
  (ii) A report of how long a student had the course as their main screen. A   student is considered in attendance for the course if the report indicates ninety per cent of the time was spent with the course as the main screen. 
  (iii)  Completion certificate that includes the course date, course name, name of training provider, signature of person verifying attendance and name of operator.

UPDATE AS OF 3/27/2020

The Wastewater Workshop for April 14-15, 2020 has been rescheduled for the Doubletree Hotel-Columbus Ohio for September 23-24, 2020. OTCO is offering the same topics and speakers in an interactive Webinar on April 14-15, 2020.

NOTE: The interactive webinar will not be at the Doubletree. You will need to join the interactive webinar from your home or office computer.

You can ask questions during the webinar and will receive copies of the presentations.
You can sit in on 45 minutes to 12 hours of the webinar still receive contact hours. Additional information regarding the Webinar will be posted by 1:00pm on 3/30/20.
In addition, you will receive 12.00 Hours of Distance Learning Courses if you are currently registered or are planning to register. The hours for the Distance Learning Courses can be transferred to an employee of your organization.  An additional email we be sent to current registrants by 1:00pm on 3/30/20.

Classroom Courses suspended until Monday April 6, 2020.

Virtual Classrooms will be available after March 30, 2020.

All Backflow Courses that were scheduled between

March 16th - April 6th have been suspended.

They will be rescheduled after April 6, 2020.

A portion of this course shall be offered in a

Virtual Classroom setting. Additional information available

after April 6, 2020.
